At Barker we provide steady year round driving work for all of our school bus and van drivers in a diversity of areas in central New Jersey. In addition if you are a shift-worker or part time student interested in supplemental employment we can work around your schedule with am only or pm only routes.
Wanted:
SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS: We are currently looking for drivers that have a Commercial Drivers License (C.D.L.) with both P (Passenger) and S (School) endorsements to drive school routes, camp runs and charters. However, if you do not currently hold a C.D.L. with both P, S endorsements, WE WILL TRAIN YOU. From the written test, to taking the road test, we will guide you through the entire process.
MONITORS: We have many aided routes that require monitors. No special license required, however you must have transportation to our facility in Bridgewater NJ.

About us
For 60 years Barker Bus Company has been transporting children to and from school and school related activities. Originally known as Roy Barker Co. and located in Pluckemin, N.J., it operated a fleet of approximately 15 vehicles and serviced schools only in Somerset County. Today, Barker Bus Company has grown to a fleet of 160 school vehicles and provides service to school districts in Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Union and Essex Counties.
Barker Bus Company is responsible for providing prompt and dependable transportation to and from school for 20,000 to 25,000 children per day. In addition to daily school routes, Barker Bus Company also provides shuttle service for school athletic and field trips, summer camps and corporate shuttles. A partial list of our clients include, Hillsborough Township, Edison Township, Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, Bedminster Township Board Of Education, Somerset Hills School District, Middlesex County Educational Services Commission, Somerset County Educational Services Commission, Camp Cromwell, Camp Ruach, the New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, and the Somerset County 4-H Fair.
